RAPID CITY, SD - Craig Macdonald made it a one-goal deficit with a minute to play for the Arizona Sundogs, but the Rapid City Rush added the empty-net tally and held on for a 4-2 win on Friday night at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

Macdonald also had a goal disallowed in period two. He returned to the lineup for the first time since November 18th.

Down 3-1 with 1:06 to play, Macdonald's second goal of the night came from the bottom of the right circle after grabbing a loose puck off a faceoff for Arizona.

Shawn Limpright added the empty-net tally to seal the final score for Rapid City.

Scott Wray opened up the scoring off a rebound early in the first period to give Rapid City a 1-0 lead.

Tempers started to flare between the two clubs in period two as the teams combined for 15 penalties and 36 minutes of infractions. The flurry of calls didn't stop the Rush from extending their lead to 3-1 as Limpright scored on the power play in the opening minute of the frame and Jesse Shultz in the closing minute.

Macdonald scored Arizona's second period goal at 4:26 and appeared to score a second goal midway through after deflecting Corey Toy's point shot, but the goal was disallowed due to Macdonald's high stick in tipping the shot.

Scott Reid made 37 saves for Arizona in the loss, just his second in his last seven games. Danny Battochio made 21 saves for the Rush to earn the win.

Both teams meet again on Saturday night to close out the weekend set and the Sundogs five-game road trip. Game time is set for 7:05 PM MST.
