Komets Add Ortmeyer to Roster

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets announced today that defenseman Jake Ortmeyer has agreed to terms and has been added to the roster.

Ortmeyer, 25, started this season playing 3 games with Trenton of the ECHL before being released Oct. 16. Ortmeyer has skated the past 4 seasons with Miami University-Ohio in the NCAA. Prior to his college stint, Ortmeyer appeared in 55 games with Omaha of the USHL registering 25 assists and 30 points while accumulating 117 penalty minutes.

Road tour resumes Friday night in Rockford....the Komets are in the middle of a 10-game road schedule before their home opener in the newly renovated Memorial Coliseum Nov. 9. The Fort Wayne road tour continues with games 5, 6, and 7 this weekend starting in Rockford against the IceHogs Friday night at 7:05. The weekend away continues Saturday in Quad City with a 7pm faceoff against the Mallards. Sunday the Komets battle the River Otters in Missouri at 7:15pm (6:15 Missouri time). All games this weekend are scheduled to be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and on the internet at KometCast on the Komet's website www.komets.com.

Tickets for the Komet's home opener Nov. 9 at the Memorial Coliseum against the Quad City Mallards at 7:35pm are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
