Greenville Grrrowl News Release

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl of the East Coast Hockey League let another third period lead disappear. JONATHAN ROY and MATT DEMARSKI scored second period goals to give Greenville a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes of play. Roy now has points in all five games this season (3-5-8 points). But then, South Carolina's rally started in the third period.

Adam Calder tied the game at 2-2 at 12:51 of the third period. Veteran Dave Seitz was then awarded a penalty shot when referee Chris Brown determined Grrrowl defenseman ERIC LIND closed his hand on the puck in the Greenville goal crease. Seitz faked a forehand shot, moved to the backhand and beat goaltender JAYME PLATT with just 2:44 remaining in the third period. Adam Calder added his second goal of the night as an insurance marker with 60 seconds left, and the Stingrays improved to a perfect 4-0-0 with a 4-2 win. Greenville falls to 1-2-2 after 5 games.

Greenville's next home game is scheduled for Friday, October 25th against the Columbus Cottonmouths (7:05 PM, Newsradio 1330 & 950 WORD). Tickets are on sale at the BI-LO Center Box Office and all TicketMaster outlets.
