Dan Murphy Returns from AHL

Lexington, KY- Lexington Men O' War General Manager of Hockey Operations/ Head Coach Jim Wiley announced today goaltender Dan Murphy has been returned from the Worcester Ice Cats of the American Hockey League.

Murphy did not play for the Ice Cats during his stint in Worchester. Murphy has played 68 AHL games in his career compiling a record of 25 wins, 27 losses and 4 ties. Murphy has also recorded three shutouts while playing in the AHL. During the 1999-2000 season, Murphy appeared in the AHL All-Star Game as a member of the Quebec Citadelles. He returns to Worcester after making his pro debut there during the 1998-99 season.

Murphy started both games for the MOW on opening weekend. On October 11th, Murphy stopped 29 of 34 Greensboro shots including 3 of 5 in a shootout. Despite Murphy's efforts, the MOW fell 4-3 in a shootout. On October 12th, Murphy stopped 25 of 28 shots, but the MOW were shutout by Greensboro 3-0.

The Men O' War play their second road game of the season Friday night in Dayton. After taking on the Bombers, the MOW return home on Saturday to host Dayton at 7:30 p.m. Lexington will wrap up their weekend with Richmond at home on Sunday at 6:00.
