'Gades Trade Goudie to Florida

October 23, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Richmond Renegades News Release

Richmond, VA – The Richmond Renegades have traded two year captain Brian Goudie to the Florida Everblades. The player acquired for Goudie will be announced when all parties agree to report. Newly signed forward Nick Lent and defenseman Peter Hogan, sent down by Utah of the AHL, join the ‘Gades lineup this week.

Goudie was in his third season of his second stint with the ‘Gades. He returned to Richmond at the start of the 1999-'00 season. Goudie, in his eleventh pro season, has been the ‘Gades captain since his return.

"We've eased the log-jam on D, opened up a veteran spot that we are actively looking to fill, and cleared some serious salary cap issues" said ‘Gades general manager Paul Gamsby. "Hopefully both players will choose to report and this will be a deal that helps both clubs," Gamsby added.

Lent, a third year pro from Providence College, was acquired by the ‘Gades from Columbus. He scored 18 goals and had 94 PIM for the Cottonmouths last season. Hogan played briefly with the ‘Gades last season and finished the year with Utah of the AHL. He made the Grizzlies opening night roster this season and played in one game before joining the ‘Gades

Richmond hosts Charlotte tonight (6:45 air-time on 100.3). The ‘Gades host Columbia Friday at 7:35. Season tickets, ticket packages, and group tickets are on sale for the Renegades 2002-'03 season. For more information please call the Renegades office at 643-7825.
