Komet Camp Opens Oct. 13

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets will open camp on the defense of the Colonial Cup Championship Monday, Oct. 13, the club announced today. Training camp will open with a media press luncheon at the War Memorial Coliseum at noon followed by the first training camp practice on ice from 2pm-4pm.
Training camp will run from Oct. 13 through Oct. 23 with the first game of the regular season slated for Friday, Oct. 24 at Kalamazoo. The Komets training camp practices this year will not be open to the public.
There are 3 exhibition games scheduled for the Komets. The first game of the preseason is Wednesday, Oct. 15 when the Komets host the Port Huron Beacons at 7:30pm. Game 2 is slated for Friday, Oct. 17 when the Kalamazoo Wings come to town for an 8pm exhibition. The Komets and Wings finish the exhibition season with a 6:30pm (Fort Wayne time) start at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo Saturday, Oct. 18.
The Komets have added 7 players to the training camp roster for a total of 27 skaters on the preseason docket as of this writing. Added today were forwards Dan Donette, Eric Bowen and Shaun Aebig. 3 defensemen were added including John Hustler, Terry Parisien and Shawn O'Grady. Goaltender Nick Pannoni was also added to the roster.
Training camp practices are scheduled at 1 per day from Oct. 13 through Oct. 23 with Sunday, Oct. 19 an off day.

Wednesday, Oct. 15 10am-11:30am at the coliseum, home game vs Port Huron at 7:30pm at the coliseum
Thursday, Oct. 16 10am-noon at the coliseum
Friday, Oct. 17 10am-11:30am at the coliseum, home game vs Kalamazoo at 8pm at the coliseum
Saturday, Oct. 18 No practice on ice. Game at Kalamazoo at Wings Stadium at 6:30pm (Fort Wayne time)
Sunday, Oct. 19 Off day
Monday, Oct. 20 10am-noon at the coliseum
Tuesday, Oct. 21 10am-noon at McMillen Ice Arena
Wednesday, Oct. 22 10am-noon at McMillen Ice Arena
Thursday, Oct. 23 10am-noon at McMillen Ice Arena
Friday, Oct. 24 9am-10am at McMillen Ice Arena, Season Opener at Muskegon at 6:40pm (Fort Wayne time)
