
Koci Reassigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Pittsburgh Penguins today reassigned defenseman David Koci from Wheeling (ECHL) to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), according to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Head Coach Glenn Patrick.
Koci, 21, was assigned to Wheeling from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on November 15. In three games with the Nailers over the weekend, he was scoreless with 18 penalty minutes.
The 6'6" and 225-pound native of Prague, Czech Republic started the season in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and was a healthy scratch in five games with the Penguins before being reassigned to Wheeling on October 23. Overall, in 10 games with the Nailers this season, Koci has no points with 30 penalty minutes.
He split the 2001-02 season between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Wheeling. Koci recorded four points (1+3) and 98 penalty minutes in 26 games with the Penguins and posted six points (2+4) and 105 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Nailers.
He was drafted by Pittsburgh in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
With the addition of Koci, the Penguins now have 26 players on their roster - two goaltenders, eight defensemen and 16 forwards. Forwards Kris Beech (lung contusion), Milan Kraft (Grade II sprain of the left AC joint), and Tomas Surovy (hernia) will not play in tomorrow night's game versus Hershey. Beech and Kraft are both out of the lineup indefinitely, while Surovy has been practicing with the team is expected to be in the lineup within the next week.
The Penguins (5-10-1-0, 11 points; 4th - place, South Division, Western Conference) begin a four-game homestand tomorrow night as they host the Hershey Bears (8-4-1-1, 18 points; 2nd - place, South Division, Western Conference). Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. at the First Union Arena at Casey Plaza.
The first 6,000 fans attending tomorrow night's game will receive a coupon redeemable for one Dodge Sebastien Caron Bobblehead Doll. Fans can obtain their Bobblehead Doll either after the game or by stopping by the Penguins Team Store located in the Arena Hub Plaza.
All fans that wish to receive their Bobblehead Doll after the game can do so by filling out the coupon that they receive upon entering the building to either the East or West Gate following the game. Fans can also pick up their Bobblehead Doll at the Penguins Team Store from Thursday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Dec. 1 (Note: All fans will need to present their coupon and ticket stub from Wednesday's game to receive a Bobblehead Doll).
