IceCats Varlamov Recalled by St. Louis Blues

Worcester, MA- It was announced this afternoon by the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL) that Sergei Varlamov had been recalled under emergency conditions from the Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League (AHL).

The 5'11" Varlamov is currently tied for second in IceCats scoring. At the time of the recall, the left winger has registered five goals and 12 assists through 15 games: 15(5/12/17). Last season, the Kiev, Ukraine native appeared in 52 games with the Blues, recording five goals and seven assists: 52(5/7/12). His overall NHL totals reflect 60 games played, eight goals and seven assists: 60(8/7/15). The former 1997 Canadian Major Junior Player of the Year was acquired by the Blues via trade with the Calgary Flames on June 23, 2001.

The IceCats next Centrum Centre game is Friday, November 22nd at 7:05 PM against the Portland Pirates. The first 1,000 kids, 12 and under, will receive an IceCats Backpack.
