Koch's OT Winner Extends the Giants Winning Streak to Six

Vancouver, B.C. - Three games, four nights, three cities, three victories for the Vancouver Giants. Saturday night in front of 4364 strong at the Langley Events Centre, the Vancouver Giants (29-12-2-0) defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors (24-11-6-2) by a 2-1 score in overtime. Davis Koch ended the game at 2:58 of overtime, one-timing home a feed from Dylan Plouffe from beside the Moose Jaw goal. Bowen Byram added a goal in regulation for the Giants who also received a 26 save, first-star performance from goaltender Trent Miner. Vancouver Canucks prospect Jett Woo had Moose Jaw's lone goal in response. It was the Giants sixth straight victory and their fourth straight win at home.

1st Period:

MJ - Vancouver Canucks prospect Jett Woo (9) wired home his ninth goal of the season off a shot from above the right-wing circle, earning a nice ovation from the local crowd. His goal came at 7:08.

VAN - Just over two minutes later the Giants tied the game when Bowen Byram (16) one-timed home a Milos Roman feed at 9:36 from the right-wing circle with the teams skating four-on-four.

Overtime:

VAN - Davis Koch ended the game when he parked himself beside the Giants net, and one-timed home a phenomenal pass from Giants defenceman Dylan Plouffe. Tristen Nielsen earned the second assist on the Giants fourth overtime winner of the season, and their second in a span of three games. The winner goal came at 2:58 of overtime.

NOTES:

- The Vancouver Giants improved their overtime record to 3-2 thanks to Saturday's win. After dropping their first two overtime games of the season, the Giants have since won three overtime games in a row.

- Davis Koch's overtime winner extended his point-streak to six games and his goal-scoring streak to five games. Over the course of his point-streak he's now notched five goals and nine assists for 14 points.

- The Giants are now a perfect 5-0 against Eastern Division competition. The Warriors are now 3-0-1-0 against teams from the B.C. Division.

- The win moved the Giants 15 points ahead of Victoria for first place in the B.C. Division Standings.
