Calgary, AB - Chicago Blackhawks prospect Brandon Hagel scored once and added an assist to lead the Red Deer Rebels past the Calgary Hitmen 4-1 on Sunday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Alex Morozoff, Arshdeep Bains and Carson Sass also found the back of the net for the visitors who have won six of their seven meetings with the Hitmen this season.

Hunter Campbell, shorthanded, tallied the lone goal for Calgary which hit three goal posts on the day.

Red Deer outshot the Hitmen 32-24 and went 1-7 on the power play. Calgary was 0-2 with the extra attacker.

Despite the loss, the Hitmen remain two points ahead of the Brandon Wheat Kings for the final Eastern Conference Wildcard spot while the win pushes Red Deer into second place in the Central Division.

Calgary is back at home next weekend for games against Prince George on Friday, Jan. 25 and Kootenay on Sunday, Jan. 27. Friday's 7:00 p.m. start is CBE Night at the 'Dome while Sunday's 2:00 p.m. contest is Dodge Skate with the Hitmen where the entire team will take to the ice for a 45 minute post-game skate with fans.

Tickets can be purchased at any Ticketmaster location or the Scotiabank Saddledome Box Office.

Calgary is then on a two-game Saskatchewan road trip for stops in Regina (Jan. 29) and Swift Current (Jan. 30).
