
Knights Drop Friday's Game to Bulls 6-1

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights dropped game four of the six-game series against the Durham Bulls by a score of 6-1 on Friday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The loss was Charlotte's third of the series. The Bulls hold a 3-1 lead so far in the series with two games left to be played from Truist Field.
Designated hitter Nate Mondou reached base twice for the Knights on Friday and drove home the team's lone run in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single. As a team, the Knights tallied a total of five hits on the night.
RHP Johan Dominguez (0-2, 4.58) was struck with the hard-luck loss after he allowed three runs on five hits over five innings. Dominguez walked just one batter and fanned five on the evening. LHP Andrew Perez came on in relief and gave up three runs on four hits over 2.2 innings pitched. RHP Caleb Freeman, who was activated off the Development List before the game, did not allow a run over the final 1.1 innings pitched.
Durham third baseman Curtis Mead hit three home runs in Friday's game to pace the Bulls. Along with Mead, Tristan Gray hit his 26th home run of the season. In all, the Bulls scored six runs on 10 hits for the win.
The two teams will continue the six-game series on Saturday night with game five from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. First pitch is set for 5:35 p.m. from the home of the Knights.
