
Knight III Leads Vipers to Texas Sized Comeback Victory

FRISCO, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (8-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, defeated the Texas Legends (6-4) 132-118 on Friday night at Comerica Center.
In the first half of the game the Vipers struggled to get on the board as the team was outscored 72-61 by the Legends. Returning from the intermission the Vipers turned things around as the team outscored the Legends and cut the home team's lead to 95-88.
Things turned around in the fourth quarter as the Vipers came from behind and tied the game 104-104 with 6:08 remaining. John Knight III was the Vipers knight in shining armor for the remainder of the game as he added eight points, two rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in the remaining minutes of the game. After multiple ties in the quarter, the Vipers had a fiery finish and walked away with a 132-118 victory.
Jarrett Culver led all scorers with 34 points. Darius Days and Houston Rockets Two-Way player Jermaine Samuels Jr. contributed 19 and 18 points, respectively. Knight finished the night with a career-high double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Jalen Lecque scored 11 points from the bench.
Texas was led by Mike Miles Jr. and Jordan Walker with 22 and 21 points respectively.
The Vipers continued on the road with a trip to Iowa to take on the Iowa Wolves at Wells Fargo Arena on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m. CST. The matchup may be streamed on ESPN+. For more information visit www.rgvipers.com.
