Raptors 905 (4-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors opened their six-game homestand with a victory against the Delaware Blue Coats (5-4) 97-91 Saturday afternoon. Javon Freeman-Liberty led the 905 with 24 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the victory. Ex-905er Jeff Dowtin Jr. put up 25 points, five rebounds, five assists, and a steal in his return to Mississauga.
‰ ‰ ‰ ‰ ‰ ‰Raptors 905 opened the ball game strong on a 12-2 run, before the Blue Coats quickly responded with a 15-4 run, taking their first lead of the night. The two teams went point-for-point before an 8-0 Blue Coats run gave them a five-point advantage going into the second. The 905 tied the ball game early in the second following a 5-0 run, however, the Blue Coats regained the lead following 10 straight points. The visitors were able to maintain and extend the lead to 12 after outscoring the home team 28-21 in the quarter.
‰ ‰ ‰ ‰ ‰ ‰The 905 found their rhythm in the second half, outscoring the Blue Coats 28-20 in the frame and bringing the game within four points going into the final frame. The 905 mounted their comeback bid in the final 12 minutes, outscoring Delaware 27-17 and winning the season series.
‰ ‰ ‰ ‰ ‰ ‰Mouhamadou Gueye paced the 905 with a 12-point, 14-rebound performance along with four blocks, and a steal. Aminu Mohammed paced the Blue Coats adding 23 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals to the stat sheet.
