
Squadron Charge Past Cleveland with 126-105 Victory

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, defeated the Cleveland Charge 126-105 on Saturday night at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
Veteran guard Malcolm Hill led the Squadron in scoring for a third consecutive game with 30 points on 8-of-14 shooting to lead Birmingham (5-5) to its third consecutive victory.
Izaiah Brockington registered a double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds, a game high.
All five Squadron starters scored in double figures as Birmingham expanded a one-point halftime lead and outscored Cleveland (4-5) 62-42 in the second half.
Sharife Cooper's 22 points before being ejected in the fourth quarter paced the Charg, while Emoni Bates and Malik Fitts each hauled in seven rebounds to pace the visitors.
Birmingham returns to the court on Monday to take on the Wisconsin Herd on the road in Oshkosh, Wisc. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and the game can be seen locally on My68 and nationally on NBAGLeague.com.
