Kit, Drafts & Schedules: Key Dates to Preseason

It is officially 85 days until Charlotte FC steps onto the pitch for the first-ever time in MLS. The start of the inaugural season is closing in fast but there are still so many moments to look forward to between now and then! The following are the key dates on the path to preseason.

Kit Launch (12/9)

The much anticipated first-ever primary kit for Charlotte FC will finally be revealed. The kit will be worn with pride by players and fans of all backgrounds representing the entirety of the Carolinas.

To celebrate the momentous occasion, the Club will be hosting a Kit Launch Party. Due to limited capacity, tickets to attend will only be available on a first-come, first-served basis to Season Ticket Members.

Become an Inaugural Season Ticket Member today to have the chance to participate in this monumental event and similar members-only events.

MLS Cup (12/11)

The grand finale to the 2021 MLS season is approaching, and boy, have the playoffs been quite a spectacle so far. These MLS Playoffs have been filled with shocking upsets, overtime thrillers and nothing but drama.

The playoff excitement continues this weekend with the Western Conference Final matchup between Portland and Real Salt Lake tomorrow at 6:30 PM. The following day will be Eastern Conference Final between Philadelphia and NYCFC at 3 PM.

Following those games, next week will be the MLS Cup Final where everyone is welcome to watch it with Charlotte FC Supporter's Groups throughout the Carolinas at the following locations:

MLS Off-Season Begins (12/12)

The half-day trade window and free agency will open on the 12th of December. Allowing the Club to execute trades or signings of free agents within this period to bolster the inaugural roster.

On December 14th, Charlotte FC will have the opportunity to acquire players with MLS experience to further reinforce the roster through the Expansion Draft. Charlotte will be able to select five players within the draft from an available pool of 22 MLS teams.

Charlotte FC Sporting Director, Zoran Krneta, has labeled this year's edition as potentially being "the most interesting Expansion Draft in the history MLS."

Fans will have the opportunity to watch the entire draft live as it unfolds as it's being filmed in real-time from Bank of America Stadium. Catch the Expansion Draft live on WSOC/Telemundo and across the Carolinas from 7 PM - 8 PM.

Season Ticket Members will be able to enter to win a chance to watch the show behind-the-scenes from the Gallery at Bank of America Stadium.

Schedule Release (December TBD)

Prepare to mark your calendars as the official 2022 Charlotte FC MLS season schedule will be released this month. Discover the exact dates from the very first game to the last, to all the exciting matchups in between, and of course the heated rivalry games against that "other city."

As of right now, just the dates for Charlotte FC's first ever home and away games are known. Charlotte FC will begin their inaugural season away in the Capital versus D.C. United on February 26th. While the Club's inaugural home game will be against the iconic L.A. Galaxy a week later on March 5th.

Upper-level tickets are currently available for that historic first-ever home game versus the Galaxy.

Inaugural Season Ticket Member Gifts (December TBD)

Season Ticket Members will be receiving exclusive Inaugural Season Ticket Member branded gifts including scarf, pennant, koozie, and limited Charlotte FC coin.

MLS SuperDraft 2022 presented by adidas (1/11)

The SuperDraft is the traditional American draft used to acquire the most exciting collegiate talent in the country. Charlotte FC will have the number one pick of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft to select the top collegiate prospect in their journey to building the inaugural roster.

A potential event to celebrate the occasion is in the works with details coming soon.

Single-match Tickets Go on Sale (January TBD)

Public sales for single-match tickets for the 2022 Charlotte FC season will be on January 14th. More information to come but in preparation make sure to fill out this form to ensure you're one of the first to be alerted when further details are announced.

Preseason Begins (1/16)

Preparations continue for the inaugural season with preseason beginning for the coaches and players at Clemson University. This will be the first time the entire team and coaching staff will all be together in preparation for the season.

The next 85 days will be some of the most exciting, filled with first time moments for both the Club and fans, all in the buildup to the long-awaited inaugural season.
