Academy Update: 2021 Generation Adidas Cup Winter Event

December 3, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Inter Miami CF News Release

Just a few days ago, two Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health teams earned wins at the 2021 Copa Rayados Internacional Tournament, becoming champions of their brackets in their respective age groups. Less than a week later, our Academy is onto its next challenge: the Generation adidas Cup.

Taking place between December 3 and December 7 at the Silver Lakes Sports Complex in Norco, California, MLS U-15 and U-17 Academy teams will face off in up-to three games in four days as part of the Generation adidas Cup Winter Event, the qualifying stage of the tournament. The schedule for Inter Miami's U-15 and U-17 teams is as follows:

U-15 Schedule

● Friday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. - Columbus Crew vs. Inter Miami CF

● Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. - Inter Miami CF vs. Colorado Rapids

● Monday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. - New York City FC vs. Inter Miami CF

U-17 Schedule

● Friday, Dec. 3 at 12 p.m. - LA Galaxy vs. Inter Miami CF

● Monday, Dec. 6 at 12 p.m. - Minnesota United vs. Inter Miami CF

Teams will participate in the Winter Event to determine seeding in the Final Event. The GA Cup Final Event will take place in April in a format with groups of four, where the top 16 total teams advance.

All teams will participate in the Final Event with the top 16 teams advancing to a single-elimination tournament. If eliminated from the Final Event, teams will participate in Showcase matches for the remainder of the event.

As the tournament approaches, we wish our teams, coaches, and training staff the best of luck on and off the pitch! For coverage of our team, you can follow our academy's journey online by following our Twitter account @InterMiamiAcad or via Instagram @InterMiamiCF_Academy.
