
Kings Recall Cammalleri

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs announced today that the Los Angeles Kings have recalled center Michael Cammalleri. The Monarchs also announced today that defenseman Doug Nolan has been assigned to the Reading Royals of the ECHL and goaltender Matt Underhill has been released from his professional tryout agreement. Cammalleri, 21, appeared in two games for the Kings this season recording zero points and zero penalty minutes before being assigned to Manchester on November 7. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, appeared in five games for the Monarchs recording five points (4-1=5) and two penalty minutes. Cammalleri missed the first eight games of the season after suffering a MCL sprain of his left knee in a preseason contest versus the San Jose Sharks on September 20 in Bakersfield, California. Originally selected by the Kings in the second-round (49th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Cammalleri has appeared in 30 career NHL games, all with the Kings, and has recorded eight points (5-3=8) with 22 penalty minutes.
Nolan, 27, appeared in 11 games for the Monarchs this season registering zero points and 14 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of Quincy, Massachusetts, has appeared in 21 career games with the Monarchs over the past two seasons. Originally selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 11th-round (282nd overall) of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Nolan has two points (1-1=2) and 20 penalty minutes in the 21 games.
Underhill, 24, appeared in four games for the Monarchs this season going 2-2-0 with a 2.90 goals-against-average and a .903 save-percentage. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of Campbell River, British Columbia, was originally selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth-round (170th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
The Kings (8-6-1-1) conclude their three-game home stand Wednesday versus the Nashville Predators at 10:30 p.m. (ET). The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net, ESPN Radio 710 - KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network.
The Monarchs (8-5-1-2) return to action when they face the Binghamton Senators for the first time ever on Friday, November 21. Game time at the Broome County Memorial Coliseum is slated for 7:05 p.m. The Monarchs will get another crack at the Falcons at the Springfield Civic Center on Saturday, November 22 at 7:35 p.m., and then return home to face the Falcons on Sunday, November 23 at 4:05 p.m.
