Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
Your Cedar Rapids Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium for a three-day, four-game home stand against. Here's a preview of what you can expect these next three days:
May 12-14 vs. Peoria
The Kernels host the Peoria Chiefs, the Midwest League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, in a four-game, three-day home stand.
The home stand kicks off with some bonus baseball as the Kernels and Peoria play a doubleheader, consisting of two 7-inning games, on Monday, May 12th beginning at 5:05 pm. The DH is necessary as the Kernels and Chiefs were rained out on April 24th in Peoria and the Kernels didn't play again in Peoria during the first half of the season. It's Dollar Monday on May 12th. Regular hot dogs, popcorn, chips, ice cream sandwiches and Cracker Jack are each $1 all game long. Plus, get $1 taquitos at the Hacienda Las Glorias / La Cantina Mexican cart during the game. Gates open at 4:00 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Peoria is set for 5:05 pm.
Here's a great deal from the Kernels and Great Clips. It's Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips. Get a 2 for 1 ticket offer when fans bring the special Twins Tuesday coupon to the Kernels Ticket Office that can be found through the Kernels Facebook page and email newsletter. The Kernels will wear special jerseys every Tuesday home game and one lucky fan will win a pair of tickets to a Twins game. First pitch between the Kernels and Chiefs is 6:35 pm and the gates open at 5:30 pm.
Who wants free money? You'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 pm on Free Money Wednesday, presented by First Federal Credit Union. $500 will be given out by First Federal at the main gates with the top cash prize of $100 EVERY Wednesday home game. First pitch between the Kernels and Peoria is set for 6:35 pm.
