(Burlington-IA)- For the second straight night the Burlington Bees fell in extra innings at Community Field, dropping game one of the series to the Kane County Cougars, 5-2 in 11 innings.

The Bees scored first, grabbing the lead in the second inning thanks to Exicardo Cayones who doubled in Mike Fish with a shot off the center field wall giving the Bees a 1-0 lead.

Kane County tied the game up at one in the sixth inning on a groundout of Yasiel Balaguert scoring Carlos Penalver.

For the second time this season the Bees and Cougars went to extra innings. The Cougars stuck first scoring a run in the top of the tenth.

The Bees kept the game going, tying the game at two when Angel Rosa scored on a wild pitch.

The Cougars offense was heating up and scored three runs of Bees' reliever Grant Gordon (0-1) who was charged with the loss as the Bees could not overcome the deficit and fell to Kane County 5-2.

Cougars' reliever Tyler Bremer (4-0) picked up the win while James Pugliese (1) earned the save. Bees' starter Elliot Morris went a season high 6.2 innings allowing just one run and striking out five in a no decision.
