On Friday, June 17th, the Kernels will host Steak Fry Friday when they take on the Clinton Lumber Kings at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Hot Corner Grill (located on the third base side of the concourse) will feature several beef items including steak kabobs, half pound âdad's cut' and regular ribeye sandwiches, angus burgers, and sirloin tip sandwiches throughout the evening's game.
A board member of the Iowa Beef Council will be on hand to throw out the first pitch and several gift packages will be given away throughout the night.
Also on Sunday, June 19th, the Kernels will hold their first ever âFather's Day Feast' at the stadium prior to that afternoon's game with Clinton. Offered in the wake of the successful Mother's Day Brunch, the Father's Day Feast will feature an all-you-can eat buffet from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. that will include salads, breads, various traditional breakfast items, an omelet station, and grilled items such as hot dogs, steaks, angus burgers, and chicken breasts.
