Lansing Lugnuts News Release

LANSING – The Toronto Blue Jays have announced today that left hander Daryl Harang has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to June 3rd. At this time, the type of injury has not been disclosed and it is not sure exactly how long Harang will be out.

Joining the Lugnuts today to take Harang's spot on the active roster is righthander Scott Roy. The 22-year-old from Rockville, CT was in extended spring training after spending the 2004 season in Pulaski and Auburn. In 23 games with the Blue Jays and Doubledays, he went 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA with six saves. In 33.0 IP, he allowed 27 hits with 30 strikeouts and seven walks. Roy was a 21st round pick in 2004 out of the University of Hartford.

Harang heads to the disabled list. In 14 games with the Lugnuts in 2005, he has amassed a 2-0 record with a 2.77 ERA and a save working primarily out of the Lansing bullpen. His last outing was on June 3rd against Clinton, when he worked the final out to pick up his only save of the season in the Lugnuts' 8-6 win.

The Lugnuts series with the Dayton Dragons continues tonight at 5:05 p.m. with the resumption of Thursday's suspended game. The contest will start in the top of the second inning with the Dragons heading to the plate. The completion of the suspended game will be a nine-inning contest and then after a 25 minute break, the clubs will play today's regularly scheduled game. That contest will be shortened to a seven-inning affair with LAFCU Fireworks directly following the completion of the game.
