Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - Kansas City belted eight homeruns Saturday night, matching the American Association single-game record that they set Thursday in Fargo, to top the Canaries 19-3 at the Birdcage.
The Monarchs scored six runs in the top of the first and never looked back. They'd add another in the third, four in both the fourth and sixth and two each in the seventh and eighth innings.
Joe Vos led off the home half of the eighth with a walk before Anthony Hall and Michael Curialle ripped back-to-back RBI doubles. Curialle later scored on a sacrifice groundout from Trevor Achenbach.
Hall finished with two of the team's seven hits as the Canaries dip to 14-14 overall. The Birds will look to avoid the three-game series sweep Sunday at 4:05pm.
