Josh Phegley's double scored Jon Gilmore from first base in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Kannapolis Intimidators an 8-7 win over the Lexington Legends Wednesday night in Kannapolis. It was the Legends' ninth consecutive loss.

The Legends held an early 4-0 lead. They scored once in the second inning on Jeff Hulett's RBI single, and added three more runs in the third. Singles by Brandon Wikoff, Brian Pellegrini and Freddie Hernandez loaded the bases. Steve Brown doubled down the left field line to score Wikoff and Pellegrini, and Russell Dixon followed with a sacrifice fly that brought Hernandez home to give Lexington a 4-0 advantage.

The Intimidators came back with a run in the third and three in the fourth to tie the game. In the fourth, Kannapolis had just one hit, but the Legends committed two errors and starter Brad Dydalewicz walked two batters.

Lexington took a 6-4 lead in the fifth on Brown's two-run single, giving him four RBI for the night. But in the bottom of the fifth, the Intimidators scored three times on three hits and three more Lexington errors, plus one walk as they took a 7-6 lead.

Lexington tied the game in the eighth. With two out and the bases empty, Albert Cartwright reached on an error by third baseman Jon Gilmore. Cartwright stole second, and Eric Suttle delivered a base hit to right field to tie the game at seven.

The Legends committed five errors in the game, equaling their season high.

Dan Remenowsky (7-3) got the win in relief for Kannapolis. Kirkland Rivers (0-1) was the losing pitcher. The series concludes Thursday night. Game time is 7:05.
