Rainout Creates Super-Sized Thirsty Thursday

Augusta, GA - Wednesday's game between the Augusta GreenJackets and the Savannah Sand Gnats has been postponed due to the combination of rain and wet grounds at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The game will be made up on Thursday as a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 p.m.

The doubleheader coincides with the final Thirsty Thursday of the 2009 baseball season, presented by Somewhere in Augusta and Country Club Dance Hall and Saloon. Dollar soft drinks and domestic drafts will be sold during the game.

Tickets for the Wednesday rainout can be exchanged for any remaining game during the 2009 regular season at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Both games on Thursday will be seven-inning contests with approximately a 30 minute break between the games.

Ari Ronick and Andrew Reichard are the scheduled starters in the twinbill for the GreenJackets and are tentatively slated to face Jeurys Familia and Robert Carson. First pitch comes at 5:05 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on WRDW AM 1630 and online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.
