Hickory Crawdads News Release

HICKORY, N.C. - Wednesday night's game between the Hickory Crawdads and the Greenville Drive was suspended with one out in the bottom of the third inning due to inclement weather. The Drive are in the lead, 1-0, and the game will resume on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. A seven-inning ballgame will follow the conclusion of tonight's game to wrap up the four-game series against Greenville. Fans with tickets to tonight's game can redeem them for tickets to any future Crawdads game this season.

RHP Neil Ramirez struck out four in two shutout innings to begin the game, before Greenville cracked the scoreless tie in the top of the third inning. CF Pete Hissey led off the inning with a triple to right-center field and scored later on a sacrifice fly to left by RF Mitch Dening, putting the Drive ahead, 1-0.

After SS Leury Garcia was retired on a bunt attempt to start the bottom of the third, the rain began pouring down, and the game entered a rain delay. The delay continued for 39 minutes before the umpires officially suspended the game. Gates will open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, before tonight's game picks up in the bottom of the third inning at 5 p.m.
