Kalamazoo Wings News Release
The Kalamazoo Wings kicked off the week Wednesday (11/22) at McMorran Place Arena with a home and home series against the Port Huron Flags. Port Huron's power play proved to be the difference, as the Flags scored three of their four goals on the man advantage. Ryan Markham (8) concluded the scoring with an empty netter to secure a 4-0 victory for the Flags. Kalamazoo's 4-0 loss to Port Huron marked the first time the K-Wings have been shutout in a span of 142 games (12/26/04 vs. Rockford).

Earning the 7-3 victory against the Flags, the K-Wings continue to remain undefeated (7-0-0) against Port Huron at Wings Stadium outscoring the Flags 50-9.
Perani's Hockey World & Event Center in Flint was the site of the K-Wings Saturday (11/25) battle against the Generals. Scoring started early, as Adam Elzinga registered his fourth goal of the season with a laser from the left point to give Kalamazoo a 1-0 lead. Flint answered back late in the opening period with a mid-slot blast by Justin Kinnunen (2). Justin Cross put the K-Wings ahead in the waning moments of the first period with his seventh goal of the year. After the Generals tied the game at two with the lone goal in the second stanza, the K-Wings broke the game open in the third period with two unanswered goals including the eventual game winner from Cross (8). Flint attempted a comeback with a goal late in the third which proved to be too little too late as the K-Wings skated away with the 4-3 victory.
After winning back to back games, Kalamazoo returned home Sunday (11/26) to face-off against the Quad City Mallards. The K-Wings struck first in the opening period with a tally from Shawn Snider (3). The second period was all Quad City, as the Mallards scored on three of four power play chances they accumulated. The Mallards added one more goal in the third to skate away with a 4-1 victory over the K-Wings.
