Mallards Visit Fort Wayne Before Pair of Home Games

Moline, IL-The Mallards make a Friday night trip to Fort Wayne to take on the Komets before returning home for games on Saturday vs. Bloomington and Sunday vs. Elmira. The Saturday night contest features the first ever visit by the Prairie Thunder. Sunday's game marks the Mallards first game against Elmira this year.

Last week, the Mallards went 2-2-0. The Mallards dropped a 3-2 decision to Rockford on Wednesday, but avenged the loss with a 5-3 win at The Metrocentre on Friday. Saturday night at The MARK, the Mallards lost 7-2 to the UHL's top squad. On Sunday, Quad City wrapped up the week with a 4-1 win at Kalamazoo.

Make-A-Wish Fundraiser following the Mallards game vs. Elmira on Sunday, December 3rd

Following the Mallards game vs. Elmira on Sunday, December 3rd, the team is hosting a Make-A-Wish fundraiser at Old Chicago in Bettendorf. This special events features an all you can eat pizza, salad and soda buffet. Mallards players will be on hand to serve as guest bartenders. Commemorative glass will be available and fans can bid on hockey sticks designed by their favorite Mallards. Tickets for this event are $15 for adults and $10 for children with all proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish. To purchase tickets, go to the Mallards office (1509 3rd Avenue A in downtown Moline), the Genesis Information Table during Mallards home games or Old Chicago.

Toys for Tots at The MARK on Saturday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 3rd

The Mallards are collecting Toys for Tots during the holiday season. Fans are encouraged to bring toys to this weekend's games. The collected toys will be donated to The Leisure Time Billiards Marine Toys for Tots Foundation Event on December 9th.

Phone Cards for Troops sponsored by Mel Foster, the Mallards and The MARK

Mel Foster, the Mallards and The MARK are collecting phone cards for distribution to U.S. troops serving domestically and overseas. To participate, bring a 90-minute (or more) phone card to the new Mallards Team Store at The MARK. Fans that participate will receive two Mallards tickets for the price of one.

Mallards Season Ticket Holder Party

The Mallards invite their season ticket holders to the annual Season Ticket Holder Holiday Party. The festivities will be held at Trackside at Quad City Downs on Tuesday, December 5th at 7 p.m. Food will be served and your favorite Mallards will be on hand. Friday, December 1st at Fort Wayne 7:00 p.m. central time at Fort Wayne

The Mallards return to Fort Wayne for the first time season Opening Night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The Komets beat the Mallards 8-3 in Fort Wayne's season opener on October 23rd. Fort Wayne topped Quad City 3-2 in a shootout on Opening Night at The MARK on November 3rd.

Saturday, December 2nd vs. Bloomington 7:00 p.m. at The MARK

The Mallards host Bloomington for the first time ever on Saturday. In their only previous meeting with the Prairie Thunder, the Mallards earned a 3-2 win at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum on October 26th.

Sunday, December 3rd vs. Elmira 3:00 p.m. at The MARK

The Elmira Jackals visit The MARK for the first time during the 2006-07 season on Sunday afternoon. The Jackals begin this week with the third best record in the UHL.

Duck Talk on the Air

Duck Talk is on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230 tonight at 6:00 p.m. from the Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge. This week, defensemen Andrei Lupandin and Sergei Durdin along with goaltender Zach Sikich join Mallards Head Coach Brian Curran and host Aaron Roof.

Wednesday, November 22nd - Rockford 3 at Quad City 2

The Mallards dropped a 3-2 decision to Rockford on Wednesday night at The MARK. A determined Quad City team outshot Rockford 35-27 including 14-4 in the closing frame before falling by one goal. The game featured 179 penalty minutes as the longtime rivals renewed their feud leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. In the first, the Hogs captured a 2-0 lead on a pair of power-play goals by Nick Corbeil. With 1:36 left in the frame, a series of fights broke out that resulted in 80 penalty minutes and two game misconducts. Quad City netminder Jason Tapp recorded 29 penalty minutes in the series of fights including a fight with Rockford defenseman Luke Fritshaw. In the second, the Mallards cut the Hogs lead to one on a shorthanded goal by Justin Chwedoruk. The goal was the first shorthanded tally of the year for the Mallards and Chwedoruk's second goal of the season. Just 38 seconds after the Mallards goal, Robin Big Snake answered for the Hogs to give Rockford a 3-1 lead. Sergei Durdin netted his second goal since returning to the Mallards line-up with 1:57 left in the game, but the Mallards could pull no closer before losing 3-2.

Friday, November 24th - Quad City 5 at Rockford 3

The Mallards captured a 5-3 win over Rockford on Friday night at The Metrocentre. It marked Quad City's first win over the Hogs during the 2006-07 season. Brent Currie netted the game-winning goal with just 4:49 remaining in the third period. Veteran forward Don Parsons scored twice in the win, and defenseman Sergei Durdin recorded his third goal of the year with two assists. Brett Pilkington also added his first goal as a Mallard. In the first period, the Mallards built a 3-0 lead before Rockford rallied for two tallies to end the opening period down by just one goal. Quad City netted two power-play goals in the first five minutes of the game. Durdin shoveled a feed from Chad Woollard into the back of the Rockford net just 3:25 into the first to give the Mallards the lead. Less than two minutes later, Durdin assisted on a Don Parsons goal to give the Mallards a 2-0 lead. Quad City stretched the lead to 3-0 when Brett Pilkington scored at even strength. It was the first Quad City goal for the rookie forward. The Hogs battled back on a goal by Chaz Johnson and a tally by Luke Fritshaw with just 18 seconds left in the period. Preston Mizzi netted the only goal of the second period. The Rockford sniper scored his sixth goal of the year just 35 seconds into the middle period to tie the game at three. After 15 minutes of scoreless hockey to start the third period, the Mallards struck twice in the game's final five minutes. Brent Currie scored the game-winning goal at 15:11 of the third on a point shot. Don Parsons added an insurance goal with 2:31 left while the Mallards were on a 5-on-3 power play.

Saturday, November 25th - Muskegon 7 at Quad City 2

The Mallards suffered a 7-2 loss to Muskegon on Saturday at The MARK. Matt Radoslovich and Brett Pilkington scored for Quad City in the loss. The Fury held a 1-0 lead after one on a goal by Mike Watt. In the second, Rustyn Dolyny, Watt, Todd Robinson and Kelly Thomson scored to open up a 5-0 Muskegon edge. An early third period goal by Radoslovich cut the deficit to four, but the Mallards could pull no closer before Watt completed his hat trick at 9:34 of the final period. Pilkington added his second goal in as many nights at 14:04 of the closing period before Evan Kotsopoulos closed the scoring with his 10th goal of the year.

Sunday, November 26th - Quad City 4 at Kalamazoo 1

The Mallards secured a 4-1 victory over Kalamazoo on Sunday at Wings Stadium. The Quad City power play was key in the win as the Mallards converted three times with the man advantage. Jason Tapp made 42 saves including 21 in the third period while earning his third win of the year. Don Parsons, Chad Woollard, Luke Stauffacher and Brett Pilkington scored in the win. A first period that featured just 2:58 of 5-on-5 hockey netted just one goal. Kalamazoo's Shawn Snider scored on a 5-on-3 power-play to give the Wings the lead. Former Mallard Glenn Detulleo and Kalamazoo goalie Ryan Nie earned helpers on Snider's tally. The Mallards seized control of the game with a trio of second period power-play goals. Don Parsons scored his ninth goal of the season on a goal mouth scramble with 8:48 elapsed in the middle frame. At 15:12 of the second period, the Mallards captured the lead for the first time on a man advantage marker by Chad Woollard. The sniper's seventh goal came following tic-tac-toe passes from Brett Pilkington and Parsons. With just 47 seconds left in the period, Luke Stauffacher scored his fourth goal of the year on a Mallards man advantage to put Quad City up 3-1. In the third period, Brett Pilkington insured the victory by scoring his third goal in the last three games with 13:15 gone in the closing frame. Pilkington's marker was the only even strength goal of the contest.

Player of the Week

Don Parsons is the Mallards nominee for UHL Player of the Week. He recorded three goals with three assists for six points in four games last week.

Goalie of the Week

Jason Tapp is the Mallards nominee for UHL Goaltender of the Week. He recorded a .920 save percentage with a 3.21 goals against average during three games last week.
