
UHL names players of the week

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Elmira Jackals left wing Scott Wray has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Flint Generals goaltender Bryan Worosz has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 26th, 2006.
Wray completed the week with five points (5g) and a plus-1 rating in three games played. On Wednesday, he netted a goal in the second period of the 4-1 victory vs. Chicago. He twiced tied the contest on Friday during the 4-3 shootout win vs. Chicago. Wray scored a goal with just 29 seconds remaining in the second period and sent the game to a shootout when he scored a goal with just over three minutes remaining in the third period. The 26-year-old native of Ottawa, Ontario capped the weekend with two power play goals in the 4-2 loss to Chicago on Sunday. His 20 points (11g, 9a) currently lead the Jackals and ranks tied for seventh in the UHL.
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Bloomington left wing Mathieu Brunelle, Flint center Tony Tuzzolino, Fort Wayne right wing Jonathan Goodwin, Kalamazoo right wing Tyler Willis, Muskegon left wing Mike Watt, Quad City forward Don Parsons, and Rockford center Preston Mizzi.
Worosz finished the week with a 2-0-0 record, a 1.50 goals against average (GAA), and a .951 save percentage. He made 33 saves in the 3-2 victory vs. Muskegon on Thanksgiving. It was the first home loss for Muskegon this season. The game was also a dual with the UHL's leading goaltender Clayton Pool, who suffered his first loss of the season in the contest. On Friday, Worosz made 25 saves in the 3-1 victory vs. Bloomington to earn his second consecutive victory. The 26-year-old native of Brantford, Ontario has three wins this season and has posted a 3.03 GAA. He has not allowed more than two goals in each of his last four appearances.
Other goaltenders nominated for the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week include: Bloomington's Jeff Reynaert, Elmira's Kris Tebbs, Fort Wayne's Kevin St. Pierre, Kalamazoo's Tom Askey, Muskegon's Clayton Pool, Port Huron's Dustin Traylen, Quad City's Jason Tapp, and Rockford's Frederic Cloutier.
