Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce that the 11th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by WKFR will occur this Saturday, December 18th, when the K-Wings host the Reading Royals at 7:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used teddy bear or other stuffed animal to the December 18th game. After the K-Wings score their first goal, all fans will be allowed to throw their bears onto the ice.
A majority of the bears collected will be donated to Salvation Army. The remaining bears will be delivered by Kalamazoo Wings players, Slappy and Santa Clause to patients of The Children's Hospital at Bronson on Tuesday, December 21st at 1:30 p.m.
Over the past ten years, the K-Wings have collected thousands of stuffed animals thanks to our very generous fans that were distributed to children during the holidays.
Saturday's contest will continue the K-Wings Saturday "Celebrity" Series featuring the high-flying group, Flippenout, which is an extreme Trampoline team that will dazzle the Wings Stadium crowd. For a sample of what fans can expect, click here to check out their past performances at.
