Kalamazoo, MI- A few hours away from their opening face-off, the Kalamazoo received a boost to their lineup with the additions of defenseman Jeremie Blain and forward David Pacan.
Reassigned to Kalamazoo by the Vancouver Canucks, Blain started the season in the AHL with the Utica Comets. A second year pro, Blain spent last year in the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads and the AHL with the Chicago Wolves. Before turning pro, Blain spent four seasons in the QMJHL with the Victoriaville Tigres and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
Pacan joins the K-Wings after starting the season in the AHL with the Utica Comets. A former 6th round (177th overall) selection of the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Pacan split his rookie season last season between the Cincinnati Cyclones and the San Antonio Rampage. Pacan posted 52 points (14 goals, 38 assists) in 57 regular season games with the Cyclones. The forward kept his scoring touch in the postseason notching 16 points (9 goals, 7 assists) in 17 games.
Before turning pro, Pacan played four seasons of junior hockey in CJHL with the Cumberland Grads and in the OHL with the Niagara IceDogs as well as one season of collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont.
In a separate transaction, the K-Wings have released forward Ben Miller.
