ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Despite a 45-19 shots advantage, including a 17-8 total in the third period, the Alaska Aces were defeated by the San Francisco Bulls, 2-1 before 4,708 fans at Sullivan Arena on Friday.

Brett Parnham collected the game winner with 6:16 left in regulation on a bad angle shot from the left corner while chasing his own rebound. Tyler Beskorowany helped San Francisco escape with 44 saves for the win, on a night that began with the Aces unveiling three new banners for last season's Brabham Cup, regular season Conference and Division titles.

Just 2:22 into the game, Jordan Morrison got a piece of Scott Langdon's shot from the left point and redirected it through Aces goaltender Joni Ortio's five-hole for a 1-0 San Francisco lead.

The Aces poured 15 shots on goal in the opening period and nearly tied the game when Andy Taranto missed on a snap shot from the rush, which caught a piece of the post and crossbar.

Newcomer Tim Coffman found the equalizer and tied the game, 1-1 at 4:55 of the second period. Bulls defenseman Kyle Bigos feathered a pass through the neutral zone which was intercepted by Peter Sivak. Coffman then took Sivak's feed and took off past the Bulls defense, beating Beskorowany through the five hole.

The third period began with the Aces threatening on several chances in the Bulls zone but Beskorowany kept the score intact. San Francisco then stunned the home crowd on Parnham's go-ahead goal when he followed up a rebound, set by a Mark Lee feed. Parnham then quickly turned a second shot on net from the left corner, which snuck past Ortio's blocker and the post.

The Aces pulled Ortio in the final minute and earned a power play with seven seconds left after the Bulls were tagged for delay of game after clearing the puck over the glass from the defensive zone. The Aces' best chance came off the ensuing face-off, when Sean Curry was set up in the high slot. Curry's blast got through traffic, but Beskorowany deflected the puck out of play.

Ortio took the loss with 17 stops.
