K-Wings Modugno Selected To Broadcast ECHL All-Star Game

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announce director of public relations and broadcaster Mike Modugno has been selected as part of the audio broadcast team for the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario.

Modugno will join Mike Benton of the Stockton Thunder and Joseph Zakrzewski of the South Carolina Stingrays as the league's three-man audio broadcast team. Offered free of charge by the league to all ECHL teams the audio broadcast begins at 6:45 p.m. PT on Jan. 20 followed by the 18th Annual ECHL All-Star Game at 7 p.m. PT. The audio broadcast is produced by Doug Lane of NHL Radio and is scheduled to be aired live in southwest Michigan on the K-Wings Flagship station, WLKM-FM (95.9)

B2 Networks, the "Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL" is also making the broadcast available online through the ECHL web site at ECHL.com.

Fans can also watch the game live at the Icehouse by Old Burdick's, located in the Upper Annex of the Wings Stadium Complex. The 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario will be hosted by the Ontario Reign at Citizens Business Bank Arena and played on January 20, 2010 while the 2010 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will be held on January 19, 2010.

In his eighth season as the "Voice of the K-Wings", Modugno was named Broadcaster of the Year by the International Hockey League in 2007-08 and 2008-09 and in 2008-09 was also named Public Relations Director of the Year.

Modugno also earned Broadcaster of the Year in the United Hockey League in 2003-04 and was named UHL Public Relations Director of the Year in 2004-05 and 2006-07. The native of Syracuse, New York served as broadcaster for the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic.

Before joining the K-Wings he was the broadcaster and director of public relations for the Corpus Christi IceRays and was selected to broadcast the 2002 Central Hockey League All-Star Game.
