Justin Bowers Wins Oakley Three Star Award for January

ALLEN, Texas - The Central Hockey League announced that Allen Americans forward Justin Bowers won the Oakley Three Star Award for the month of January with 15 points.

Players earn points for being named stars of the game. The athletes earn five points for being recognized number one star, three points for a second star nod and one point for being named third star.

The 24-year-old Halifax native scored 14 points in 10 games in January for Allen, including five assists in one game, which is a CHL single-game season record. He recently was called up by the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Heat, the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames.

Bowers leads the Americans in scoring with 54 points (17 goals, 37 assists) in 39 games. He will receive an Oakley Detonator watch for his outstanding play.
