Mudbugs At Home For A Pair Of Games This Weekend

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will close out their longest homestand of the year with a pair of games this weekend at the CenturyTel Center. The Mudbugs will take on the Wichita Thunder tonight and the rival Texas Brahmas on tomorrow night with both games set to begin at 7:05 pm.

Tonight will bring a little taste of summer to a winter evening with our Beach Bash Night, presented by Willis-Knighton Sports Medicine. We'll have beach-themed activities throughout the night, but the fun really heats up after the game when the Mudbugs host a special concert with Jimmy Buffett tribute band "Bluffett". Parrothead or not, be sure to stay after the game as Bluffett caps off your Friday night playing all your favorite Jimmy Buffett tunes right here at the CTC.

Tomorrow is packed with activities as the Mudbugs celebrate Scout Night and Clawed's Birthday, presented by Ouachita Independent Bank. Join us in welcoming Boy and Girl Scout troops from all over the Ark-La-Tex as they converge on the CenturyTel Center. The first 1,000 kids into the building will receive a free Webkinz "Lil Kinz" stuffed toy at the doors and the first 1,000 fans will get a free Mudbugs autograph book, courtesy of Cubby Hole Self Storage of Louisiana.

The Mudbugs will also celebrate another birthday for our cool crustacean mascot, Clawed, tomorrow night. Many other local mascots will be in attendance to help us celebrate, and we'll even be giving out free cake on the concourse during intermission!

Also during the game against Texas, fans will have an opportunity to bid on Brett Smith's black game-worn jersey during a silent auction at the Gateway Tire Fan Services Center. The jersey is being auctioned off as part of the CHL's "Captains for Courage" program, with all proceeds from the auction going to the Hoffen Foundation , which helps raise money for children's organizations and programs.

Then after the game, plan on staying for a very special public skating session, as Willis-Knighton presents "Skate with the 'Bugs", where fans will can spend an hour skating on the CTC ice with Mudbugs players after they take on the Brahmas. Anyone attending the game is invited to rent a pair of ice skates or bring their own to participate for a cost of just $6.00 per person (including skate rental). Public skating is limited to the first 100 people to sign up at the Gateway Tire Fan Services Center located inside the main CTC entrance.
