The Mudcats play the first of two consecutive doubleheaders tonight against the Pelicans at TicketReturn.com Field in Myrtle Beach. Carolina won game one of the series last night, marking just the second time this season they opened a road series with a victory. RHP Andrew Waszak starts on the mound for the Mudcats in game one of today's doubleheader. He pitched into the seventh his last time out on 5/30 against Wilmington at Five County and held the Blue Rocks scoreless while scattering five hits. Waszak earned his first victory of the season following his shutout effort on 5/30 and is 1-3 with a 2.95 ERA over four starts this season. RHP Seth Webster starts the second game of today's twin bill. He shutout the visiting Pelicans over seven full innings while leading the Mudcats to a 12 game losing streak snapping 2-0 victory at Five County Stadium his last time out on May 29. Webster struck out six, walked two and held Myrtle Beach to four hits over seven scoreless while earning his first victory of the season.
Today's game begins at 5:05 p.m. at TicketReturn.com Field in Myrtle Beach and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pre game show beginning at 4:50 p.m.
