The Mudcats begin the second half of the 2015 season tonight against the visiting Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C. Carolina finished its first half run at 34-35 and 7.0 games out of first place behind the first half champion Pelicans. RHP Brandon Barker gets the second half opening start for the Mudcats tonight. Barker is 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA over five starts with the Mudcats this season. He last pitched on 6/17 in Frederick and earned his third straight win after allowed just two runs on six hits over 5.2 innings pitched. Barker is currently 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA in June and has turned in quality starts in two of his last three outings. He started the season with Class A Rome and is 6-5 with a 3.26 ERA over 13 starts between both levels this season.
Tonight's game begins at 7:00 p.m. at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, NC and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pre game show beginning at 6:45 p.m.
