Last time out...
The Florence Freedom (19-22) scored three runs in the second inning and never trailed in a 5-3 victory over the Washington Wild Things (27-16) in front of 3,099 fans at UC Health Stadium on Friday night. Rookie Michael O'Neal (1-0) made his professional debut for Florence and went five innings, scattering four hits, and only giving up two runs to earn the victory. Cole Miles delivered a RBI single in the second and a throwing error by Stewart Ijames allowed another run to score. Zak Blair smacked a RBI single as well to make it 3-0 in favor of Florence. The Wild Things responded with a two-run home run from Maxx Garrett in the fourth. Sam Eberle clobbered his second home run in as many games in the fifth to extend the lead to 4-2. A Ryan Solberg RBI double in the sixth provided some more insurance. Washington pushed across a run in the ninth but Jorge Marban got his seventh save of the season.
For Starters...
