The Johnstown Chiefs (12-6-9; 33 PTS; T-4th North div.) got four out of a possible six points last week with wins over Toledo and Trenton. They fell on New Year's Day to the visiting Fresno Falcons. Once again the Chiefs will play three games in three nights this week, all at home. Friday they host Trenton, Saturday night the Bakersfield Condors, and Sunday afternoon the Reading Royals. The Chiefs are currently tied with Reading for fourth place in the North division. Both teams trail third place Wheeling by four points.

Game #25 (12/31/04) JOHNSTOWN 4 - Toledo 3 Tallari Goal, Assist

The Johnstown Chiefs ended 2004 on a winning note Friday night as they defeated the Toledo Storm 4-3 in front of a sellout crowd of 3,799 at the War Memorial Arena. The Chiefs rallied scoring three third period goals Joe Tallari scored on the power play, Matt Reid scored short handed and Jean Desrochers scored the game winner at 11:59. Steve Hildenbrand scored for Johnstown in the first period. Nick Parillo, Rick Judson and Tyler Knight all scored for Toledo. Chiefs goaltender David Currie made 31 saves for his 8th win of the season. Logan Koopmans suffered the loss for Toledo making 6 saves. Scott Fankhouser (14 saves) started the game for Toledo, however was ejected from the game late in the second period for throwing and object at a Johnstown player.

Game #26 (1/1/05) Fresno 5 - JOHNSTOWN 4 James Two Assists

Fresno Falcons defenseman Curtis Sheptak's goal with just 1:19 left in regulation broke a 4-4 tie to defeat the Johnstown Chiefs 5-4 Saturday night at the War Memorial. The defeat snapped the Chiefs seven game unbeaten streak (4-0-3). Matt Reid scored his second shorthanded goal in as many nights for the Chiefs in the first period. Chad Cavanagh, Brent Kelly and Jean Desrochers also scored for Johnstown. Fresno also got goals from Sam Ftorek, Shaun Sutter, Jason Weaver, and Jan Sochor. Chiefs goaltender David Currie suffered the loss making 26 saves. Falcons goaltender Brett Jaeger made 31 saves for his ninth win of the season.

Game #27 (1/2/05) Johnstown 5 - TRENTON 2 Cann 35 Saves

The Johnstown Chiefs were finally able to defeat the Trenton Titans in regulation this season as they came away with a 5-2 victory in New Jersey. The Chiefs were 0-0-4 against the Titans in the previous four meetings this season. Shawn Mather, Joe Tallari, Brent Kelly, P.L. Courchesne and Brent Bilodeau all scored for the Chiefs. Goaltender David Cann made 35 saves in the contest.

Friday night the Chiefs host the Trenton Titans (17-6-4, 38 PTS: 2nd North div.) for the sixth time this season. The Chiefs are 1-0-4 against the Titans this season. Trenton currently sits in second place in the North division. The Titans have the ECHL's best road record (9-2-2). Trenton has lost their last two games and is 6-3-1 in their last ten games.

The Chiefs will host the Bakersfield Condors (17-9-4, 38 PTS; 2nd West div.) for the first time ever Saturday night at the War Memorial. The Condors are currently in second place in the West division. The Condors are 4-5-1 in their last ten games.

Sunday afternoon the Chiefs host the Reading Royals (16-9-1, 33 PTS: T-4th North div.) for the third time this season. The Chiefs are 1-0-1 against the Royals this season. The Royals have won two straight games and are 6-3-1 in their last ten games. Sunday is also Heluva Good Quality Foods Kid's day. All kids tickets are just $1 and there will be a "Skate With the Chiefs following the game. Skate rentals will not be provided.
