Atlantic City's Moreland Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jake Moreland is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for December 27-January 4.

Moreland was 3-0-0 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 0.66 and a save percentage of .977 as Atlantic City sits atop the ECHL with 42 points and 19 wins. After making 35 saves in a 3-1 win against Dayton on Wednesday, Moreland stopped 29 of 30 shots in a 3-1 win against Trenton on Friday. Making his 23rd consecutive start on Sunday, he turned aside all 23 shots in a 3-0 win against Toledo.

In his last 15 starts, Moreland is 11-2-2 with a goals-against average of 2.31 and a save percentage of .930.

The 6-2 and 200-pound Moreland is 17-4-3 and leads the league with 17 wins, 1,488 minutes and 748 saves. He is tied for second in the league with three shutouts and ranks eighth with a goals-against average of 2.18. In 2003-04, Moreland was 11-4-1 with a goals-against average of 2.75 and a save percentage of .910 in 19 games with Atlantic City and 1-1-0 with a goals-against average of 1.38 and a save percentage of .926 in two games with Worcester of the American Hockey League.

Runners Up: Rob Zepp, Florida (2 gp, 2-0-0, 0.50 GAA, .986 save pct.) and Alfie Michaud, Peoria (3 gp, 3-0-0, 1.33 GAA, .958 save pct.).
