Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
FISHKILL, NY-- The Hudson Valley Renegades are excited to announce that John Kosciak will be inducted into the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 5th at Dutchess Stadium. Kosciak becomes the 14th member of the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame at Dutchess Stadium, which honors individuals who have left their mark on the world of baseball through the profession of scouting.
"The Goldklang Group and the Hudson Valley Renegades are pleased to continue the tradition of honoring professional baseball scouts with this year's induction of John Kosciak to our Hall of Fame," said Tyler Tumminia, Senior Vice President of the Goldklang Group.
Kosciak, a native of Milford, MA, has worked in the professional baseball scouting industry for over 35 years. During that time, Kosciak has scouted for the Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros organizations. He now currently works in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as a professional scout. Kosciak has seen a half-dozen of his signees over the years earn contracts into Major League Baseball, including recent professionals such as George Springer and Nick Tropeano.
Kosciak has also seen many of his signees continue working in baseball after the conclusion of their playing days as scouts. That list includes Dave Hollins, who works as a Special Assignment Scout for the Philadelphia Phillies, Steve Langone as the Advance Scout for the Boston Red Sox and Scott Barnsby, as the Assistant Scouting Director for the Cleveland Indians.
Criteria for induction into the Scouts Hall of Fame include a minimum of 20 years of professional scouting experience. Selection also is based on the combination of successes in all areas of amateur and professional baseball.
Kosciak will be inducted into the Scouts Hall of Fame prior to the Hudson Valley Renegades contest against the Aberdeen IronBirds on Saturday, September 5th. The ceremony will begin at 5:00pm in front of the Scouts Hall of Fame, located by the front entrance of Dutchess Stadium. Tickets for that contest are available by calling the Hudson Valley Renegades Ticket Office at (845) 838-0094 or online at hvrenegades.com.
