Lowell Spinners News Release
LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners, Class-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, announced a pair of game time changes for the season's final stretch of home games moving first pitch on Sunday, August 30, from 4:05 to 5:05 and first pitch on Saturday, September 5 from 5:05 to 7:05.
The time changes were necessitated by the return to campus for UMass-Lowell students and the addition of post-game fireworks to the schedule respectively.
The Spinners return to LeLacheur Park Sunday, August 30, for a three-game set with the Hudson Valley Renegades. With first pitch now set for 5:05, allowing additional time to conclude the weekend move-in on campus, the gates will open at 4pm. It is Military Hero Card Set Giveaway, presented by the US Army ROTC and The Lowell Sun. 33 area active duty military and veterans will be honored with their own baseball cards and the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive copies of the baseball card set.
"The Hero Card set is one of my favorite nights at the ballpark each year," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "To get to learn more about these incredible people, right here in our community, and show our gratitude is truly humbling."
The Spinners conclude their season with a three-game homestand September 5-7 against the Vermont Lake Monsters with a spot in the playoffs on the line. The September 5 game being moved from 5:05 to 7:05 allows for a special bonus post-game fireworks show being added to the schedule.
"With the team arriving early in the morning hours on Saturday, moving the game time allows us to treat the best fans in baseball to an additional fireworks show," said Bawmann. "We are thrilled to end summer with a bang."
Tickets for all six remaining home games are on-sale at www.LowellSpinners.com. Rain exchange tickets and unused group tickets are also valid but must be exchanged at the Box Office. The Spinners Box Office is open Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm, and on game days beginning at 10am.
