Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced on Thursday that center Boone Jenner has been assigned to the club by its NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Selected by Columbus in the second round (37th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Jenner recently completed his fourth season with the OHL's Oshawa Generals. Jenner checked in third in the OHL with an Oshawa-best 45 goals while finishing 10th in the league with a team-leading 82 points, also adding 37 assists in 2012-13.

A native of London, Ontario, Jenner made his professional debut at the end of last season over five games with Springfield, scoring his first-career goal on Apr. 14 against St. John's.

Jenner skated with Team Canada at the IIHF World U20 Championships in 2012 and 2013. He notched a pair of assists over the two tournaments and won a bronze medal with his country at the 2012 event.

In 227-career OHL contests with Oshawa, Jenner has accumulated 246 points (111g-135a). The 19-year-old was named to the OHL's First All-Rookie Team in 2009-10 and was a participant in the CHL's Top Prospects Game in 2010-11.

The Falcons also announced on Thursday that they have released right wing Alex Aleardi from his ATO. Aleardi signed with Springfield on Mar. 19 and recorded a goal and an assist over three games with the Falcons.
