Springfield, Mass. - The American Hockey League announced on Thursday that Springfield Falcons left wing Jonathan Audy-Marchessault and goaltender Curtis McElhinney have been named to the 2012-13 AHL All-Star Teams.

Audy-Marchessault was selected to the AHL First All-Star Team. A second-year pro, Audy-Marchessault is tied for second in the league with a Springfield-best 63 points (20g-43a) in 69 appearances this season. He was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Month for January, tallying 17 points (8g-9a) in 12 games to begin the 2013 calendar year. Audy-Marchessault registered his first-career hat trick on Jan. 15 in Manchester and made his NHL debut with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Jan. 31. The 22-year-old from Quebec City, Quebec strung together a season-high seven-game point streak from Jan. 6 to 20, accumulating 14 points (7g-7a) during that stretch.

McElhinney was named to the AHL Second All-Star Team. The eighth-year pro leads the league with a Falcons all-time record nine shutouts, the most ever recorded in one year by a goaltender in the 70-year history of AHL hockey in Springfield. He was named the CCM/AHL Goaltender of the Month for October and the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 11. McElhinney is fourth in the league with a .924 save percentage, is ninth with a 2.25 goals-against average, and is third with 28 victories. This marks the second selection to the AHL Second All-Star Team for McElhinney, a 29-year-old resident of Denver, Colo. He also received the honor during his second pro season of 2006-07 while playing with the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.

Both Audy-Marchessault and McElhinney participated in their second AHL All-Star Classic this past January. Audy-Marchessault, a starter in this year's game, recorded a goal while McElhinney led all netminders with 15 saves on 16 shots in the second period.

Audy-Marchessault is the fifth player in Falcons history to be named to the AHL First All-Star Team. McElhinney is the fourth to be selected to the AHL Second All-Star Team.
