August 15, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release

Before Saturday's game, Syracuse was holding an eleven game winning streak, looking to tack on another win on Saturday. That is, until Chad Jenkins started for the Bisons.

There was no doubt that Jenkins earned his eighth win of the season for the Herd. With the help of the starter's performance, the Bisons snapped the Chiefs' eleven game winning streak at NBT Stadium 4-0.

Jenkins made his 37th outing for the Bisons on Saturday night. The righty had a 2.48 ERA and is now 4-0 on the road while pitching for Buffalo this season. The starter was perfect through the first four innings, retired 12 straight batters, striking out four. The Chiefs' spoiled Jenkins' fun after a double to lead off the fifth. Jenkins would add only one more hit, but ended up earning his eighth win of the season.

Buffalo's pitching staff aided Jenkins in shutting down Syracuse and their winning streak. The Herd's bullpen combined six strikeouts and two hits allowed to keep the Chiefs shutout.

The Bisons added four runs on eight hits in the victory. After Hague drove in Buffalo's first run in the third, the Herd extended their lead in the eighth inning. The Herd added three insurance runs to their lead in the top of the eighth inning. With runners on the corners and two out, George Kottaras drove in Heisey with an RBI single to right field to give the Bisons a 2-0 lead. Andy Burns drove in Kelly from third with an infield single to short. Munenori Kawasaki finished the rally with a RBI single to center field to secure Buffalo's 4-0 victory.
