IronPigs Look to Snap Skid

August 15, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will try to snap a four-game skid when they host the Pawtucket Red Sox on Saturday at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch of game one is set for 12:05 p.m. with game two scheduled to begin at 6:35 p.m.

RHP Jerad Eickhoff (2-0, 0.64) gets the ball for the Pigs in game one. Eickhoff allowed five hits while walking one and fanning four over eight innings of work. Thus far over his 2 GS with Lehigh Valley, the right-hander has struck out 11 over 14.0 IP.

In game one, LHP Rich Hill will be on the bump for Pawtucket. The Boston native will be making his PawSox debut after being signed by the Red Sox as a minor league free agent on Monday. Hill was 2-2 with a 2.91 ERA in 25 games with Syracuse earlier this season.

RHP Severino Gonzalez (1-5, 4.66) makes his return for the DL for the IronPigs in game two. Gonzalez's last start came back on July 24 vs. Syracuse when he got a no-decision after surrendering two runs on seven hits to go along with a walk and two strikeouts in six innings of work.

RHP Mike McCarthy (6-6, 3.52 with Double-A Portland) will make the start for Pawtucket in game two. McCarthy's last start with Portland came on Sunday at Akron when he was tagged with the loss after giving up three runs on four hits while walking four and fanning four in 4.0 IP.

Prior to game two, the first 3,000 adults 18 and older will receive an IronPigs picture frame presented by Coca-Cola.
