Tale of Two Halves in Twin-Bill Split

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Durham Bulls and Indianapolis Indians rode solid outings from their starting pitchers to split a doubleheader Friday night at Victory Field.

Top prospect Blake Snell struck out six over 5 1/3 innings in the Bull's 6-1 victory in the first game of the twin-bill. He held the Tribe to just one run for the second straight start, and after previously striking out seven over five innings on Aug 4 in Durham, owns a 1.74 ERA with 13 strikeouts to just two walks against Indianapolis.

Ryan Brett doubled, homered and drove in three runs for the Bulls, while Tony Sanchez doubled and scored for the Indians' lone run.

In the second game, Brad Lincoln led the Tribe to a 7-1 win after pitching five innings for the first time since August of last season. He allowed just three hits and one walk during tonight's scoreless outing, improving to 6-1 in 35 total appearances.

Willy Garcia homered for the second straight night, Keon Broxton drove in three runs and Alen Hanson scored three times in the win.
