TRENTON, NJ (November 9, 2005) - The Trenton Titans announced on Wednesday that defenseman Mike Jarmuth has been assigned by the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League

Jarmuth signed as a free agent with the Sound Tigers this past summer and was sent to Trenton after attending training camp with both the New York Islanders and Sound Tigers this fall. Called up by Bridgeport on October 13, Jarmuth has chipped in an assist and 2 penalty minutes in 7 games with the Sound Tigers this season.

The 23-year-old, 6'0'' 205-pounder from Monkton, Ontario posted 13 goals, 23 assists, 36 points and 24 penalty minutes in 72 games last season with the Mississippi Sea Wolves, while also being selected to the 2005 ECHL All-Rookie Team

In a separate transaction, Cole Byers has been activated off the 7-day injured reserve list and should be in the line-up tonight when the Titans face the Reading Royals.

Byers, 22, split 18 games last season between the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL and Quebec RadioX and Sorel-Tracy Mission of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey.

Now a second-year pro, Byers skated in 2003-04 with the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League. There, the 6'3, 210-pounder from Nipawin, Saskatchewan native, led his team with 235 penalty minutes while also totaling 15 points (2g, 13a) in 52 games.
