
Jakaitis Stops Stingrays 3-0

Duluth, GA - Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis picked up his third straight shutout stopping all 27 shots as the Gwinnett Gladiators (15-8-6-3) defeated the South Carolina Stingrays (15-14-1-1) 3-0 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center Wednesday night.
The Gladiators opened the scoring at 9:31 of the first period with forward Chris Clackson lifted a shot over the left shoulder of Stingrays netminder Philipp Grubauer (L, 34 saves on 37 shots) from the top of the right-wing circle. Defenseman David Strathman and forward Justin Milo added assists.
Milo gave the Gladiators two-goal lead early in the second period burying his third marker of the season at 3:06 from defenseman Shane Sims and forward Colin Vock. Clackson made it 3-0 at 18:42 with help from forwards Bryan Brutlag and Andy Brandt. Both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play.
The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday, December 31 against the Florida Everblades for FIRST Robotics Night presented by Google and a New Year's Eve bash with a postgame balloon drop at 6:05 p.m.
