Flyers Alum Dave (the Hammer) Schultz at Titans Tonight

December 28, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, N.J. - Former Flyers enforcer Dave (The Hammer) Schultz will appear as part of the Titans' Family Flyers Alumni Wednesday series tonight at the Sun National Bank Center.

Schultz replaces Joe Watson, who is unable to appear. He will be available for fans' autographs after the first intermission. The Titans host the Wheeling Nailers at 7 this evening.

A member of the Flyers Hall of Fame, Schultz played five seasons with the "Broad Street Bullies'' (1971-76) and was more than just a fighter and enforcer, scoring 20 goals in 1973-74 and double-figures in goals two other seasons. He recorded an NHL-record 472 penalty minutes in 1974-75 and scored the series-clinching goal in overtime in the first round of the 1974 playoffs.

His tough play helped the Flyers to Stanley Cup championships in 1973-74 and 1974-75. Schultz also played with the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres during his NHL career, which ended after the 1979-80 season. He amassed 2,294 regular-season penalty minutes and 412 in the playoffs.

He presently is involved in an anti-bullying campaign.

Tickets for all Titans games are on sale by calling the Titans offices at 609-341-1100. Single-game tickets are also available at the Sun National Bank Center box office and on-line at www.comcasttix.com.
