Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced Friday that they have signed forward Samson Mahbod to a standard player contract and that forward Oren Eizenman has been recalled from the team by its AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Mahbod initially signed with Elmira during this past offseason and participated in the Jackals' two preseason games in early October. The rookie from Montreal led Prince Edward Island (QMJHL) with 44 assists and 64 points in 2009-2010 and was fourth on the Quebec League's Drummondville Voltigeurs with 30 goals, 49 assists and 79 points in 2008-2009 and participated in that season's Memorial Cup.

Eizenman heads to Syracuse currently on a five-game scoring streak with the Jackals, during which he has two goals and seven assists for nine points.

The Jackals host the Reading Royals on Friday and Saturday at 7:35 p.m.
